Scouting America (BSA) is a national program open to students in grades 6-12 that aims to develop outdoor survival skills, self-confidence, and ethics through youth-planned activities with increased attention to service, community engagement, and leadership.
Scouts work at their own pace to earn ranks and merit badges while having fun learning with friends in a safe and supportive environment. Our Troop has a range of Scouts at all levels and ages--there is no experience required to join!
Troop 101 organizes year-round backpacking and whitewater rafting trips, camp-outs, hikes, bike rides, and community service projects, as well as weekly meetings for Scout leadership practice, skill building, and socializing/game playing.
Usually within driving distance, locations have included Yosemite, Pinnacles, Pt. Reyes, Camp Tamarancho, Marin Sierra, and Philmont Scout Ranch High Adventure Camp in New Mexico. Scouts determine which activities interest them and can opt-in or -out. Families often join, too!
Troop 101 follows the BSA program outlined by Scouting America.
